Cessna 152 | PPL Training

The aim of the National PPL is to devolve the regulation of some recreational flying to ‘Air Sports’ organisations. The National Private Pilots Licence became available for issue from 1st August 2002 with applications processed by NPLG (National Pilots Licensing Group Ltd) administered via the PFA Office in Shoreham.

The NPPL regulates training and licensing for UK Flying in aeroplanes and self launching motor gliders. The NPPL training course requires a minimum of 32 hours training. There are ground subjects to study and the general flying test to pass and a navigation test separately for the NPPL.

The National PPL for aeroplanes, when conducted at Cranfield will count as 32 hours towards the European JAR 45 hours PPL.

Please be aware that the UK PPL licence is issued for – Single Engine Piston (SEP) (A)– Aeroplanes with a maximum of 4 seats and a maximum take off weight not exceeding 2000kg.
